Vintage Port Tasting
Vintage 1947
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Wine Society 18%, we had decided to have some extra tasting during the year 2013 and our 2nd celebration was 8 Vintage of 1947 from our cellar and the cellars of Ander G. Åkesson and Gerda Jensen. In the Wine Society 18% we have during 20 years only tasted 6 houses from 1947 and now we had the opportunity to taste 5 new houses.
This Vintage was split between 1947 with 12 houses declared and 1948 with 9 houses.
1947 was considered outstanding and had 9 points out of 10, 4* out of 5* according to Michael Broadbent and 93 point out of 100 from James Suckling.
We were 14 participants in the tasting.
Tasting notes. Note that the points are for the actual bottle tasted. Read about how we set point on the page "How to understand our points valuations"
