In 1793 Averys of Bristol is established, making it one of the UK's oldest wine merchants. In the 1890s Averys focused on Ports & Sherries. Since then they have imported and sold all sorts of wine. In addition to selling established brands of port, Averys has on several occasions bottled port wine under their own brand. For example, their Special Reserve Vintage Port in 1963 was a blend of Sandeman's, Fonseca's and Taylor's vintage ports.

Bouquet | This bottled was corked but some cream candy, toffee and spiciness was in the nose. | Score range | 15.00 - 15.00 |
Taste | Medium body. Mature, peaking but corked with some old acidity. It was not for us undrinkable as we found some spiciness and maybe liquorice in taste and a quite nice finish. | Average score | |
