Caves Vale do Rodo, CRL is a cooperative established in 1950, making port as well as red, white and sparkling wine. The first vintage port was made in 2003. In 1982 the company established a special company to commercialize port wine. This company, Produtores Associados de Vinhos Progresso do Douro, Lda., was set up as a partnership with Gran Cruz Porto, but already in 1987 the part owned by Cruz was taken over by the co-operative. The co-operative grew in 2004 by incorporating Adega Cooperativa Vale do Douro de Tabuaço and Adeag Cooperativa de Armamar. Caves Vale do Rodo is now a cooperative with members in three different municipalities in the Douro region.
