Duorum is latin for ‘from two’. It's a joint project between two oenologists, João Portugal Ramos and Jose Maria Soares Franco. It was founded in 2007. As well as two oenologists, the ‘from two’ also refers to the fact that the wine is a blend from two rather different parts of the Douro: Cima Corgo and Douro Superior. As of vintage 2008 the name “Vinha de Castelo Melhor” was added to the Duorum name. However it is still a blend of several vineyards.
