Lidador
Lidador is a brand that has been used since the first half of the 20th century, mainly for Reserve Port and Tawny but somtimes also vintage port. We do know that the 1978 vintage was bottled and shipped by Joven Lda. Some years after that the Lidador brand was bottled by The Douro Wine Shippers and Growers Association, linked to Barros Almeida. In 1997 Lidador was bottled by Hutchesson, Feuerheerd & Associados, which was owned by Barros at that time. As far as we know the brand has not been in use since Sogevinus bought Barros and Hutcheson in 2006.

House | Lidador Joven | Vintage | 1978 |
Colour | Yellow mature in colour. | Number of tastings | 1 |
Bouquet | Quite lovely bouquet with butterscotch, burned sugar and some orange zest in the nose | Score range | 15.75 - 15.75 |
Taste | Medium body. Mature and peaking even a little old but balanced and very attractive and elegant. Easy to drink and enjoy with a taste of butterscotch, burned sugar and candy. The finish is maybe a little short but very seductive. This port will not be better so just drink it now. | Average score | |
