Owner Quinta do Noval

Quinta do Passadouro belonged to Dieter Bohrmann since 1991. Until 2003 this quinta was a joint venture between Bohrmann and Dirk Niepoort and supplied grapes to wines from Niepoort. Also Vintage Ports were declared under the quinta name with Jorge Borges, from Wine & Soul, as wine maker. In 2019 the quinta was bought by neighbouring Quinta do Noval.

BouquetFlowers, violet, cacao, chocolate and old grocery shop in the nose.Score range15.00 - 15.90
TasteMedium body. Mature and peaking. Cacao, flowers and violet in flavour. Complex and quite balanced port, but also some volatile acidity, with a long and attractive finish. When the bottle is OK it is a quite lovely port.Average score15.44

Six bottles have been defect. Dirk Niepoort have said that there were some problems with bacteria and the danger of volatility.

TasteMedium body. Nice and attractive tannin but immature. Completely balanced and rather complex with dark berry, spiciness, pepper and ginger bread in taste. The finish is very elegant and tannic. Exciting port to follow.

TasteMedium body. Round tannins and very easy to drink and enjoy Balanced with fruit and berries in taste and with a nice finish but not so long and tannic as we wish.
