Some sources suggest the house was founded in 1895, but the first document states that the company was in fact founded in 1898. The company was started by Alfredo Rodrigues Pinho and his wife Margarida Ferreira de Pinho. Until 1908 they also had João Pereira de Carvalho as a partner in the company.
Alfredo Rodrigues Pinho died in 1947, and in 1950 also Margarida Ferreira de Pinhos died. The Rodrigues Pinho family continued the business for several decades. In 1980 the company was taken over by Offley Forrester and Diez Hermanos. The company is finally, in 1992, merged with Forrester & Cia. Ltda and the name Rodrigues Pinho is after almost 100 years no longer existing under this name.

| Taste | Medium body. Mature and peaking with quite attractive but old acidity in the mouth but balanced and quite tasty. Very easy to drink and enjoy with a quite attractive and rather long, very exciting finish. This port should have been drinking long ago but it is a pleasure to do it today and we just love to do so. | Average score | |
