Joven
Joven Lda.
We have only seen Joven a few times, mostly as tawny and as the bottler of the Lidador brand. However, in 1977 Joven made a vintage port. We presume that Joven was linked to the Barros group and The Douro Wine Shippers and Growers Association. The Lidador vintage 1978 was bottled by Joven, but a few years later Lidador was bottled by the The Douro Wine Shippers and Growers Association. In addition, the back side lable of Joven Vintage 1977 has the same layout as the ports bottled by The Douro Wine Shippers and Growers Association. Another link to the Barros group is that Joven Lda has bottled a non vintage Quinta da Mesquita and Quinta da Mesquita has been part of the Barros group since 1972 when it was bought by Kopke, as subsidiary to Barros since 1953.
